GGI Electric Locomotive

The Pennsylvania Railroad GG1 Electric Locomotive is without doubt one of the most famous designs in American railroad history. It was designed in 1935 by the renowned designer Raymond Loewy, considered the "father" of Industrial Design. Many were still running into the 1980's, but sadly all are now retired, with some in museums but most survivors rusting away in salvage yards.

I created the CAD model in SolidWorks™ from extensive research, drawings and photographs. The renderings were done in KeyShot 3 Pro, with HDRI lighting created in HDR LightStudio. My model, as are many, is available in the .obj format for use in film or Computer Graphics Imaging (CGI) on the Gould Studios page of
