D&RG Caboose, circa 1881

This Denver and Rio Grande four-wheel caboose was one of sixty-eight 36" narrow gauge cabooses built beginning in 1871 by Jackson and Sharpe (and later by the D&RG shops) for the for use in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA. They were used, in updated form, well into the 1930's, and several highly modified examples are in museums, or in use on tourist railroads.

The Model

The SolidWorks™ CAD model was reverse-engineered from original builder's folio drawings and period photographs. It is representative of my museum quality work in the field of History and Industrial Archeology (IA).

Renderings were created in KeyShot 3 Pro from Luxion.
