Anglo Saxon 36” gauge 2-8-0

The Baldwin Locomotive Works 2-8-0 ? 42, the Anglo Saxon, circa 1881, was among the first of the Class 60 (later C-16) built for the narrow gauge Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, working both freight and passenger service in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. These diminutive locomotives became perhaps the most famous of all narrow gauge rod engines, with some serving well into the mid 1940’s, following extensive rebuilding and modernization.

I created the CAD model in SolidWorks™ from extensive research and copies of over ninety original Baldwin Locomotive Works drawings, erecting cards and blueprints. It is considered the definitive document for this locomotive, and is referenced by scholars, historians and museums.

Scaled black-line drawings and full color Fine Art prints are available from our store.
